Sebastian Colombo



Sebastián Colombo is currently piano professor at the “Utrechts Conservatorium – Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Utrecht”, The Netherlands.

Born in Mar del Plata (Argentina), he studied at both “Luis Gianneo” and “Juan José Castro” Conservatories, where he obtained the Advanced Piano Professor diploma. He acquired a solid private formation from different professors of international prestige: Eugenia Rozental, María Rosa Oubiña de Castro, Elsa Púppulo and Antonio De Raco.

He took development courses with acknowledged masters: Rosalyn Tureck, Miguel Angel Estrella, Elsa Púppulo, Vladimir Bakk and Jordi Mora.

He played as soloist with an orchestra and as a duo (with pianist María Fernanda Núñez) at the main concert halls in Argentina. For several years he taught at the prestigious “Collegium Musicum de Buenos Aires”.

Later, with the support of the “Fundación Cultural Argentina”, he travelled to Europe to study at “L´Escola de Música de Barcelona” (Maestri Albert Attenelle and Jordi Mora). He deepened their studies in Baltimore (USA) with pianist Nancy Roldán. Later he studied at the Geneva Music Conservatory (Switzerland) and he attended lessons of the Jones – De Rosa Duo at the “Scuola Superiore Internazionale di Musica da Camera del TRIO DI TRIESTE”, Italy, with a scholarship of the “Mozarteum Argentino” and the “International Rotary Club”.

The Núñez-Colombo Duo gave recitals in Spain, Italy, Switzerland, and Norway. Their performance at the “Incontri di Duo Internazionali”, held at Trieste (Italy), deserved the praise of the specialized criticism.

Since the year 2002 he directs the European headquarters of the “CENTRO DE ESTUDIOS PIANÍSTICOS” – CEP, an important cultural institution, devoted to the development of talented young people. Great national and foreign interpreters are invited to give courses and master-classes, allowing this way a closer approach between students and acclaimed artists.

He offers courses and master-classes in several countries and he is jury of piano competitions. At present he is dedicated exclusively to the teaching activities. His students are often rewarded, presented in concerts and advised by invited teachers.
