Christina Fassbender



Christina Fassbender studied at the Musikhochschule Stuttgart with Prof. Jean - Claude Gerard , as well as completing postgraduate studies at the Mozarteum in Salzburg with Prof. Michael Martin Kofler.
From 1996 to 1999 , she was a flutist in the Munich Radio Orchestra and from 1999 to October 2012 , she was the First Principal Flute in the orchestra of the Komische Oper Berlin.
In 2001 she won the German Music Competition.
Orchestras such as the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orchestra of the Bavarian State Opera Munich, the Staatskapelle Berlin, the Symphony Orchestra of WDR and many others invited her as a guest principal flute player. In Germany she performed flute concertos with the Rundfunk Sinfonieorchester Berlin , the Orchestra of the Komische Oper Berlin under the baton of Kirill Petrenko, the Orchestra of Beethovenhalle Bonn , the Lucerne Festival Strings and others.
Christina Fassbender has performed chamber music in Gemany, Italy, Spain, Austria, Switzerland, Japan, Norway, Chile, Costa Rica, the United States and Canada.
She has also made numerous radio broadcasts and CD recordings.
She has taught at the conservatories of Hanns Eisler, Berlin, Lubeck and Rostock. In 2012, she became the Flute Professor at the Westfalische Wilhelms - Universitat Munster (successor to Prof. Konrad Hunteler). Beginning in 2015, she was the Flute Professor at Musikhochschule Wurzburg and in October 2017 she changed to Universitat der Kunste Berlin.
