Nena Rion (31.1.1993) began with violin education at the age of 4, at the age of 8 she began
with piano education and at the age of 10, she began with transverse flute. At the beginning,
she attended local music schools (Trzic, Kranj, Radovljica). She played violin for 10 years,
flute for 3 years and she continued with her piano education at the artistic grammar high
school (lyceum) in Koper and also studied with prof. Djordje Milojkovic at the Traditional
Russian piano school in Geneve for two years. After graduating high school and finished pre-
college in Geneva, she studied at the Academy of Music Ljubljana with prof. Dubravka
Tomsic Srebotnjak, where she graduated in 2014. She continued her Master’s degree at the
Royal Conservatory of music in Brussels, Belgium, where she in the year of 2016 graduated
with honors (cum laude) in the class of prof. dr. Daniel Blumenthal and at the same time she
also continued her Master studies in Ljubljana with prof. Dubravka Tomsic Srebotnjak, where
she graduated in 2017.
She had many recitals in Slovenia and abroad, she appeared as a soloist with Parnu
philharmonic orchestra and conductor Leonid Grin, Slovenian Philharmonic orchestra with
Uros Lajovic and with orchestra of SNG opera and ballet Ljubljana. During her studies in
Ljubljana she received Preseren’s award, Yamaha fundation award, and many prizes at the
competitions (national and international – in Vienna, Koblenz, Triste, Gaillard ect.) Since
2016 she is working as an accompanist, piano teacher and chamber music teacher at the
Artistic lyceum in Koper, she collaborates with many different chamber music groups,
choires, vocal groups and vocal-instrumental groups in Slovenia and abroad (Austria, Italy,
Gemany, Bulgaria, Greece, Croatia ect.)
