Marco Gerboni



He studied at the “G.Rossini” Conservatory of Pesaro where he graduated with the highest grades and magna cum laude in saxophone at the age of 16 and in clarinet at the age of 19. He won 12 first prizes as a duo player in several national and international competitions.
As a soloist, he won the first prize of the “Premio Ancona” in the second International Competition of Musical Execution for Wind Instruments at the age of 14 (Goffredo Petrassi Presidente of the Jury).
With the group Baires ’87, he was awarded the prize “G. Tani” for the music in 1992.
He has collaborated with several symphonic and opera orchestras such as the Orchestra del Teatro della Scala of Milan, the Filarmonica Orchestra of Teatro della Scala, Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Rai di Torino, Ente Lirico Arena di Verona, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Teatro la Fenice of Venice and the Orchestra of the Swiss Radio Television.
As a soloist, he has performed with the Orchestra del Teatro Comunale di Treviso, the Orchestra of Ferrara, the Orchestra Regionale del Lazio and the Orchestra Philarmonia Veneta.
He was invited as Italian representative to the 10th, 11th and 14th World Saxophone Congresses (Italy 1992, Spain 1997, Slovenia 2006).
He has recorded for the labels EMI, Delos, Primrose Music, Stradivarius and Pentaphon.
He has performed in several concerts all over Europe, in the United States, Cina and Japan.
He regularly teaches master classes in Portogruaro, Spilimbergo, Fermo, Frankfurt (Hochschule), Granada, Valencia, Cordoba (Conservatorio Superiore) and at the University of Denver in Colorado.
Winner of ministerial examination, he is a professor of saxophone at the “G.Frescobaldi” Conservatory of music of Ferrara in Italy.
