Michele Costantini



He studied at the “Benedetto Marcello” Conservatory of Venice (Italy) where he graduated with the highest grades. After studying for a few years with Maestro Marco Peretti, he graduated in composition at the Royal Conservatory of Music "Victoria Eugenia" of Granada (Spain). Subsequently he attended master classes by Pepe Romero, David Russell, Alberto Ponce, Pavel Steidl, Manuel Barrueco, Remi Boucher, Paolo Pegoraro and Bruno Giuffredi.
As a soloist he has performed and toured important concert venues in Italy and abroad, receiving everywhere acclaim from audiences and critics.
He has made some TV broadcasts (for RAI e Mediaste), three CD recordings "Navigando" (with music composed by himself), "Alhambra" (with music by various Spanish authors) and "Sonho de Magia" (with music by Brazilian authors D. Reis and J. Pernambucco ), and two CD recordings in duo with the flute "World Dances" and "Omaggio all'Opera". He recorded a DVD containing three tracks by F. Tàrrega for a Japanese television station, two of which were "Recuerdos de la Alhambra" and "Theme and variations on Paganini's Venice Carnival". He has recorded three CDs and concerts with Donella Del Monaco (Soprano) and he has also collaborated in concerts and recordings with Antonella Ruggero and other Italian songwriters.
In the classical field, he is involved in the dissemination of 19th century guitar music in Italy and abroad (playing on original guitars of the time) with the "19th Century Guitar duo" together with Alessandro Radovan Perini; as soloist he has performed with classical guitar repertoire in several concerts all over Europe; he has also performed in trio or orchestra.
As composer he has written two operas, “L'incredibile viaggio di Phileas Fogg” in 2015 and “Tra fantasia e realtà le avventure di Don Chisciotte” in 2016: he won the first prize at the International Composition Competition “M. Ravel” in 2016, with the song "Dulcinea" taken from the last opera.
He currently holds the annual specialization course at the prestigious Tàrrega Academy of Pordenone. He regularly holds Masterclasses on the in-depth study of the Classical guitar and is called to the jury in various national and international competitions.
