Franco Saretta



Born in Castelfranco Veneto (TV), Franco Saretta gratuated in Guitar (2002), Didactics of music (2007) and Didactics of guitar (2009) at the “A. Steffani” conservatory of his native city. He the continued his studies with Pierluigi Corona, and he participated in masterclasses with Alirio Diaz and Alvaro Pierri. Franco holds two degrees with full marks and honors: in Conservation of cultural heritage (four-year degree, 2003) with a thesis on Venetian publishing of the 16th century, and in Musicology (specialist degree, 2008, with a three-year course in Artistic Techniques and Enterainment -TARS-) with a thesis on the opera production of Academic Theater of Castelfranco Veneto in the 19th century. He held numerous concerts both solo and chamber music groups, in particular in duo with the flutist Gabriele Guglielmi (Duo In-canto).
Thanks to the scholarship of the Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, he worked in the cataloging of printed sacred music at the Cini Foundation (Venice). He has published numerous articles in specialized and non-specialized journals, ranging from the guitar to the opera house, to reviews chamber music for the cultural promotion of events and young artists; he has curated the exhibition on the 250th anniversary of the birth of the Academic Theater of Castelfranco in 2008.
As a teacher he oversaw the preparation of numerous students who they have performed in national and international festivals. Many of them have won prestigious competitions for the categories of participation: Marcatali di Gorizia, Rospigliosi di Lamporecchio (PT), “Città di Riccione” competition, and “Bale” contest (Croazia). He is now professor of Music History at the musical high school “Giorgione” in Castelfranco Veneto and at the “Marconi” high school in Conegliano. He also collaborates, as a guitar teacher, with numerous music institutions such as the “G.F. Malipiero” in Asolo (TV), the “Manzato” institute of Treviso and the “Accademia Filarmonica” of Camposampiero (PD).
Since 2010 he has been directing the international guitar festival “Sei Corde D’Autunno” (Autumn Six Strings), which takes place annually in Camposampiero. Thanks to this festival he has seen performing in concerts and masters some of the most important international guitarists such as Oscar Ghiglia, Aniello Desiderio, Matteo Mela, Lorenzo Micheli, Stefano Viola, Marcin Dylla, Paolo Pegoraro, Pavel Steidl, Andrea de Vitis, Alberto Mesirca, Emanuele Buono and many other artists.
