Alessandro Toffolo



Alessandro Toffolo was born in 1982. He studied at the Conservatory ‘A. Steffani’ in Castelfranco Veneto under the guidance of Roberto Scalabrin, graduating in 2001 with first-class honours.
From 1999 to 2002 he took postgraduate courses held at Castelfranco Veneto by Fabrizio Meloni (first clarinet at the Scala).
In 2002, he successfully auditioned for the Savona Symphony Orchestra and the Orchestra Giovanile Italiana (Italian Youth Orchestra), and in the same year he was invited to take part in the project ‘Italian Sound for Europe’, an initiative of the EUYO. He also took on the role of first clarinet in the regional orchestra of Veneto conservatories, performing at various concerts under the direction of Massimo De Bernart.
In 2003, he took postgraduate courses for orchestra musicians at the academy of the Scala in Milan. Since 2006 he has taken further courses at the academy of the Teatro La Fenice, Venice, studying under the theatre’s first clarinet, Vincenzo Paci. He has performed the “Variations in C” for clarinet and orchestra in the Sale Apollinee of La Fenice, accompanied by the Fenice chamber musicians.
He gives many concerts, playing with various chamber groups, and collaborates with the orchestra ‘Filarmonia Veneta’ and with the orchestra of the Teatro La Fenice. He teaches in various music schools in the Treviso area.
