Paola Gallo



Born in Treviso, Paola Gallo has completed her secondary school education at the scientific lyceum of Treviso, followed up by music studies, initially at the F. Manzato music school in Treviso and subsequently at the B. Marcello Conservatory of Venice under the guidance of Maestro Vincenzo Pertile.
Magna cum laude graduate from the Department of Art History of the Faculty of Language Arts of Ca’ Foscari University of Venice under the guidance of Professor G. Morelli. Upon the recommendation of various professors, was awarded a special scholarship to attend coursework in History of Theatre at the University of London. Has completed a university specialisation course for the teaching of Italian as a foreign language, and has also specialised in quality management for artistic productions (ISO).
Has taken advanced training courses in music technique and interpretation under the valuable guidance of teachers such as Maestro Vitale of the Academy of Pescara and Professor Dedova of the Conservatory of Moscow, as well as in piano chamber music under the guidance of Maestro Meyer of the Conservatory of Tel Aviv.
Began a collaboration as a cultural operator working with the APT (Azienda di Promozione Turistica, Tourism Promotion Board) of Treviso only to expand, over time, to also include work for, among others, such bodies as RAI (The Italian State Radio/Television Network), the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Enel, as well as with various theatres, cultural associations and local organisations for the organisation of a variety of initiatives ranging from art, to music, to theatre, and to literature; is also a past president of the Friends of the Comunale Theatre of Treviso.
In her work as a musicologist has garnered great appreciation for her varied conference seminars, relating to comparative art history, as well as for her work as a historian of the piano; and has been called upon as consultant to music publishers, record labels and organisers of music contests.
Given her keen interest in the role of women in the world of art, has published a book – Lili Boulanger, l’innocenza del sogno simbolista – and was later included in the book Le donne di Ester as among the most interesting women of north-eastern Italy. Was presented with the Bagattino Award from the CTG (Centro Turistico Giovanile, Youth Tourism Centre) of Treviso for her exemplary dedication to the cultural growth of the city.
Has taught semiology and musical education in various middle schools and high schools of the province of Treviso, is past Deputy Director of the music school of the municipality of Spresiano (Treviso) and Artistic Director of the Giambattista Bellio Cultural Association (Treviso).
At present, as a piano and music history teacher she leads academy preparatory courses at the Collegio Vescovile Pio X private school, a school which is associated with the Conservatory of Castelfranco and with the Conservatory of the Scuola Comunale C. Monteverdi of Musile di Piave.
